Description
The Cult – Electric
‘Electric’ was the cult’s mainstream breakthrough album in the united states, where the UK band’s previous records, ‘dreamtime’ and ‘love’, had been embraced by college radio. after unsatisfying sessions with ‘love’ producer Steve brown, the cult hooked up with superstar hip-hop producer (and unapologetic 1970s-boogie fan) rick rubin to re-record the tracks, and his changes make the album. the revved-up singles “love removal machine” and “lil’ devil” best exemplify ‘electric’, which is arguably the band’s best album.
