Description
Burning Spear – Marcus Garvey
The Jamaican singer and wordsmith Winston Rodney aka Burning Spear was born in the same parish that spawned Marcus Garvey, a highly influential figurehead for black rights, whose views emanated from a particularly Afrocentric standpoint. The album was recorded at Randy’s Studio in Kingston, with its resident Black Disciples band, making one of the all time great reggae albums that made Spear an international star.
