Description
Blue Cheer – Vincebus Eruptum
The utterly essential debut album from the extraordinary Blue Cheer. Kicking off with the band’s mental re-working of Eddie Cochran’s “Summertime Blues” over-amped, proto-metal, Leigh Stevens guitar exploding all over the place, marrying the distorto primitive rock n roll of The Sonics, Swamp Rats etc with the new possibilities of modern amplification.
The album never lets up, pummelling the listener with pounding caveman rhythms and heavy, heavy guitars, dumb as fuck but really should be viewed up there with the MC5 and Stooges as one heap of pioneering racket.
Vinyl, LP, Album, Reissue, Stereo, 180 gr.
