Description
The Chameleons – Script Of The Bridge
Like Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, Comsat Angels – the Chameleons with their first release created another essential album in the golden post-punk era. An hour’s worth of one amazing song after another, practically a greatest-hits record on its own: the John Lennon tribute Here Today, Monkeyland, Pleasure and Pain, Paper Tigers, As High as You Can Go and the breathtaking closer, View From a Hill. This is the first time that Script of the Bridge has been made available as a ‘double album’. By dividing the tracks onto two 12” discs, the sound quality greatly increases with none of the compression that hampered the original Chameleons vinyl. Working from original studio tapes, the production pair painstakingly restored the album song by song, to create what the band believe is the truest reflection of how the recordings were meant to be.
