Description
The Fatback Band – Yum Yum
Fatback took their name from the influential 60s ‘fatback’ jazz beat of New Orleans music. The group’s funky instrumentation, “live” feel and the vocal energy of their performances made them a club DJs “must”, in the 1970s and 80s.
Yum Yum released on New York’s Event label in 1975 features the UK Top 40 Chart hit Yum Yum Gimme Some.
In the words of the original liner notes: “Take a throbbing bass line, couple it with a drum beat that just won’t quit and a horn section that hits you instantly… that’s the Fatback Band.”
