The fifth album, founder member Bernie Leadon leaves, and with him the last vestiges of the Eagles country influences. They are replaced with a classic rock sound, arguably blueprinted on this album, which was an enormous seller, racking up over 10,000,000 worldwide. Two huge hit singles as well, ‘Life in the Fast Lane’ and, of, course the anthemic title track.
